Our Roots
The Chapel, formerly known as Believers’ Chapel Cortland, was started in April of 2014 as a church plant of Believers’ Chapel in Cicero, NY. At the time, our now Associate Pastor, Chuck Freeman, was pastoring a church called Mosaic Ministries here in Cortland. Looking to embrace a new season of church ministry, Pastor Chuck agreed to team up with our now Lead Pastor, Jon North, turning Mosaic Ministries into what we now call, The Chapel. Throughout the last eight years, God has lead The Chapel into amazing new seasons of growth and opportunity to serve Cortland County. We are honored to be a small part in making the name of Jesus famous in our region!
We live to connect people with God, and connect people with each other.
Our Mission
Our Vision
Our heart is for every person to come to know the unconditional love and forgiveness that God so graciously extends to each of us.
We believe that no one was meant to do life alone. Our goal is to cultivate a culture in which relationship is priority, encouragement is at the forefront, and walking out our relationships with God together is of the utmost importance
We desire that everyone comes to the understanding that God loves you exactly where you are at, but loves you enough not to leave you there. Our heart is to see each person grow deep in their relationship with Jesus and be transformed through the power of Jesus Christ.
We believe that every person was created on purpose, and for a purpose. God has places unique talents, abilities, and gifts inside each one of us to not only make a difference today, but to make an eternal difference. We desire to unite together and answer the call of the Great Commission.
